Join us for a {SAS}sy Blog Hop!

We're Hoppin'...Blog Hoppin'! We are very excited for our very 1st {SAS}sy Blog Hop. We have some awesome members that have teamed up with our design team for a day of fun and we hope you can join us.

For those new to blog hoppin' its very simple (and fun!) Blog hoppin' is simply moving from one blog to another learning new things, seeing great products or possibly doing a challenge. The fun part is leaving comments! I think I can speak for all bloggers that we love reading comments from those that read our blogs.

So...Scrap Attack Scrapbooking has set aside a limited number of prizes that will be awarded to those that take the time to leave comments. We'll take the cumulative number of comments from ALL blogs and combine them to pull some random winners. So don't just leave a comment on 1 blog, leave one on all the blogs for a better chance to win some fun prizes!!

Deadline for leaving comments on any of the blogs will be midnight PST on June 22nd, 2009. The more blogs your visit, the more chances you have to win some super cool prizes and Scrap Attack Scrapbooking Gift Certificates!

I had the hardest time picking just 1 thing to show you so I've got 2 fun ideas to get you started!

I’m sure you’ve had those days where you desperately want to scrap but just don’t have a lot of time. One of the things I enjoy doing is gathering some scraps and making flower embellishments to be used on future pages/cards. I fell in love with making circle flowers long before they were even cool and now I’ve graduated to sewing on them for a little extra {pow!}. I was a seamstress long before I was a scrapper so adding simple little sewn details to things is always quick and enjoyable for me.

So next time you're making your own flowers, try sewing on them too! It adds a special little {pow} to your embellishments. I’ve shown a couple different ways this can be done but the cool part is “there is no wrong way!” Just have fun and make it your own. And just think of all the scraps you’ll be using up! {wink!} For a larger view of the flowers I made, simply click on the image:

The 2nd thing I wanted to show you was something I saw in a magazine a while back. These were intended to be stamped “flower” images. Since 4th of July is right around the corner and mine look more like fireworks, I thought I would show you how to add some fun to your scrapbook pages or cards! (and if you’re one of the lucky ones that can manage to get them to look like flowers – give yourself a high 5!)

All you need for this is some paint, cardstock and some fake Gerber daisies. I went to the dollar store and picked up a bundle of these for, you guessed it, a buck. I prefer using Heidi Swapp acrylic paints because they are glossy - but any acrylic paint will work.

--->>> Take your paint and brush on your flower lightly so the petals and a little of the center are painted. Then just “stamp” your flower on the cardstock. I typically gently press the leaves down to give a better coverage. When you pull the flower up, you should have a nicely stamped image of either a firework or a flower. (lol!)

You can change the appearance of the design by simply adding more or less paint.

Another thing you can try is changing or adding a new color of paint. I simply twisted my flower in the red paint and stamped again. This time, a little of the left over white was stamped as well as some of the new red paint.

Just play around and stamp on some scraps, its fun to see the different looks you can achieve by just playing around! These are some randomly stamped images from when I was trying to get most of the paint off the flowers. (I think they are starting to look like flowers) ha ha!

We hope you enjoy the ideas above, if you try them please share - we'd love to see what you create! Please enjoy the rest of the Scrap Attack Scrapbooking {Blog Hop} today! There's definitely a lot of inspiration showing up on everyone’s blogs. Your next stop on the hop is Jennifer's blog (aka bAbYbEcKy.) Jennifer is a very talented scrapbooker so make sure and head over to her blog to see the fun she has in store for you! There are quite a few blogs participating so make sure you hit them all and good luck on the prizes!

* Comments will be tallied as cumulative numbers. For example, if blog #1 has 76 comments, blog #2 has 54 and blog #3 has 80 = comments #1-76 will be from blog #1, comments # 77-130 will be from blog #2 & comments #131-210 will be from blog #3...and so on.

63 We {love} reading your comments!:
